I like this location! Didn't want to stay at resort all the time this time.so choose here.felt very safe inside gated community. Not to far from downtown also nice shopping and coffee places across from. Walked to downtown on way to get steps in then took cab back.like 100 pesos.8 us.nice walk in the morning time... Maya ruin on the way.. Nice place to stop over!! I will stay here or around here if i want to go out not just relax in the resort. Food are ok. Will get bored of buffet after few days.. But I'm not so interested of huge meal and regular intermittent fasting person.Mexican restaurant was my favorite.you could have healthy meal depending on how you choose. No coffee maker in the room was my huge disappointment. Loved adult pool side with little extra fees. Quiet and huge room. It was nice with the price. We stayed high end resort usually but over eating and drinking...this was very different experience. Very active and energized fun trip.

At the price point, for an all-inclusive, you can't beat the level of service (Antonio and Aurora) were exceptional. Non-stop cleaning, the beach, and overall tropical appeal this place provides. The catamaran and kayak were inclusive. Volleyball on the beach, as well as other non motorized activities. The various engaging activities are also a plus. The drinks and food, not so much. The ride from the Cancun airport was much longer than expected. If you are looking for a secluded get-away, try this spot.

This place is pretty nice but I hated and I'll emphasize hated the check-in process. It's stupid, redundant, extremely long and inefficient. They have you do things they can do and things you could do online before you get there. But no, stand in a very long line and do it while you're already tired after traveling all day and don't have things explained to you very well. And the WiFi here needs bigger routers to support the demand. The bathrooms are really far from the beach and main pool. Other than that the place is clean, friendly, pretty. The buffet is good. Plenty of chairs around the beach and pool. The beach area is gorgeous. We were upgraded to the courtyard rooms across the parking lot by the gym. Very nice area. I had a massage in the spa, "Cristian" was very knowledgeable and did a great deep tissue massage. The spa was beautiful, clean, inviting and relaxing. Overall I recommend this place. They just need to fix the check-in process.

I’m giving the 2 stars solely to the kind and helpful staff & the nice pool. Everything else in my book was a 0-1. They also keep the grounds maintained! There are ALWAYS workers cleaning something on the grounds. There is a nice main pool if you’re looking for a fun vibe with some water activities and there is a separate location that has a “chill” pool with cabanas and hammocks. Okay, now the bad. Which is unfortunately a lot. The food was horrendous - I mean, we left to eat elsewhere or ordered in almost every single day. The times that we were stuck with the snack bar/buffet.. we DREADED. And the restaurants? You’re only allowed to book 1 restaurant for dinner every 3 nights. So on a week vacation, you can eat at only 2 of the restaurants. And it is only for dinner. We left, and paid, to eat ANYWHERE else on an all inclusive resort. That should tell you everything you need to know. Next, the entertainment (on the resort) was non existent. They host one single show nightly that lasts for 1 hour. That is it. And it is a nice show, but that’s it. There is no place to dance and drink, The lights and music get shut off at 10 pm. Okay, the alcohol. Oh my, the alcohol. It is SO watered down, you will end up drinking a gallon of juice before you even get a buzz. (The bartenders are so friendly though.) Here is my recommendation: GO TO 5TH AVE!! That is where you will find good food, drinks, shops, entertainment and a sliver of culture!! The taxis are super cheap to get here as well.

The resort was very family friendly, the check in was longer than expected but the services are great. The staff in all the restaurants, bars, pool side, gym, laundry, and activities were so kind, nice and friendly. The food was the only thing that was sub par, we were hoping to find more traditional food. Not just the usual things at the buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The rooms were very clean and service was everyday, the various locations for drinks was fun for our 4 kids. Each reservation for dinner was fun filled with great service, they even went above and beyond setting up things for a birthday party. The beach was cleaned everyday, but the water was filled with algae that didn't let us swim as much as we would have liked. I would recommend this hotel and its services.

The resort was very fun to stay at even though it was raining several days I was there. Many of the employees are very funny and the food is very good. Some of the restaurants have strange meals like octopus, while some tend to have more common food like marinated chicken. There are also dozens of drinks to get all free of charge(Most have alcohol but there are probably ~2 dozen without alcohol). There are also shows every night that include dancing and occasionally acrobats that are very talented. This is a very nice resort to stay at if you get the chance.

This was our second time at this resort and I can say it feels like home now. The rooms and the food are nothing special but everything else is amazing. The staff are friendly, the beach is beautiful, the entertainment is decent, and the drinks are....well... unlimited😂. The resort is very well kept and cleaned daily. Our room was also cleaned well daily. We had a great time and we will be back soon! Thank you Viva Wyndham Maya.

Food was tolerable, good scenery the place is really clean. I love the updated rooms. Very good staff, the kids club is awesome, they just need more update on that for the swimming and games with the kids. The shows are good, they can start off a bit late so they run up till 11pm. The beach is minutes away. And the Shopping centers is right across the street, this location is nearby everything. You get your monies worth,

The food quality was very poor. We were only able to eat at the “nice” restaurants that required reservations once every 3 nights that we stayed, which we were not made aware of when we booked. The “nice” restaurants consisted of a Mexican restaurant, a Mediterranean restaurant, and an Italian restaurant. The Mediterranean was not Mediterranean whatsoever, it was Italian. None of the food was authentic, not even the Mexican food. Everything is extremely outdated, the decor, the entertainment. POOR EXPERIENCE. Spend your money elsewhere, I beg you.

Its a great spot steps away from the big beautiful beach which is kept clean. Would see workers constantly raking up seaweed. The staff were always very friendly so we felt very comfortable here. Not to large of a resort so getting around is easy. The food was good. The drinks can be a bit weak but when I wanted something stronger I would just ask for a double and they would make it for me no problem. The beds are a bit hard. But all in all I would definantly reccomend this resort and would come back. Had a great time!

We had an amazing vacation (16days),the hotel is beautiful, not too big with little jungle and small animals. Amazing beach kept cleen all the time.The location of the hotel is great, (10minutes by bike or 30 minutes by walk to the center of Playa del Carmen). Food very tasty and big selection of alcohol. Big thanks for the whole bar team, they made us feel very special, and we always received amazing service. We loved the show, every evening was a different one, especially trapeze show, that was something really amazing. Lots of activities. The animators team super friendly and helpful: Angel, Alejandro, Tony, Daniel, Emanuel(trapeze). I'll definitely recommend the hotel to friends and family.

The Viva Wyndham Azteca is a fantastic all-inclusive resort. The food was consistently excellent with many different options. We enjoyed many of the fun activities including kayaking. Sugar-soft sand and turquoise crystal-clear water! The Yucatán Peninsula is a picture-perfect paradise. And there are so many local activities like zip-lining, swimming in cenotes, seeing wildlife & marine life, etc. A visit to the downtown area of Playa Del Carmen as well as to Tulum are musts as well. Tulum is full of incredible mysteries including Mayan pyramids. Fantastic family destination!

The pillows are the absolute worst and they told us they don’t have ay other type to give us. Food at the restaurants is not good but the snacks at the pool are good specially the pizza. They never answer the phone when you call for assistance from your room. There is only one elevator for all the room buildings. The location is good as it is very close to downtown The beach is not like a Cancun beach but it is decent. I personally would not go back because for the price I could have gotten a better experience

This hotel has an airport shuttle. Inform the hotel of your flight information to schedule prior. The buffet is world class. There are two separate restaurants on the property. The hotel comps you two dinners. This hotel has an adjacent property where you can go to their restaurants. There is a pool bar and bar food available 24 hours. All included. The property has their own beach access with various activities all included. I strongly recommend visiting Tulum and Chichen Itza as day activities. Near Tulum please visit the outdoor waterpark Xel-Há Park. Also take time to visit some of the local cenotes. Trust me you will enjoy this!

I really enjoyed this smaller resort. It never felt crowded but still had lots of amenities. The staff were very helpful and kind. The shop however does not open at the posted time which is not convenient if you need something in a pinch. Also I found the buffet better than the A la carte restaurants. One big plus is you don't need a reservation for the restaurants so you can just go on a night when you feel like dining. We tend to eat early so we never had to wait for a table.

The beach and water is 5 *. The resort is clean and easy to get around in. Food was pretty good. But no bacon. The beds were hard like a board. And the pillows were very uncomfortable. The staff was lovely. And it was nice having sister privileges at the Viva Maya.
